
Marketing Associate
Remote with preference for NYC
Compensation: $75,000 - 85,000 annually

Material is one of the most exciting kitchenware brands in the country right now. Our products have earned the kind of word-of-mouth and editorial love that most brands spend decades chasing. We're growing fast, our wholesale presence is expanding, and we need a sharp, self-directed marketing associate to help us keep the momentum going.

What The Role Entails
This isn't a role where you'll be handed a checklist and left alone. You'll be expected to think, initiate, and execute, often at the same time.
Content & Social: You'll own our Instagram and TikTok presence day-to-day. That means building and managing a content calendar, briefing creators, and making real-time calls about what's trending and what's worth jumping on. You know the difference between content that performs and content that just exists, and you consistently make the former.
Micro-Creator & Influencer Relationships: You'll build and manage a roster of micro-creators who genuinely love to cook and are effective in storytelling. That means finding them, vetting them, onboarding them, and keeping those relationships warm. Quality over quantity: we care about fit, not just follower count.
Product Launch Support: When we bring a new product to market, this role is central to making it land. You'll coordinate assets, align timing across channels, brief creators in advance, and make sure every touchpoint, from social to affiliate to website, is ready to go on launch day. You've done this before and you know that a missed window is a missed opportunity.
Brand Partnerships: You'll identify and collaborate on brand-to-brand content collaborations that expand Material's reach with the right audiences. You'll own these relationships from pitch to publish.
Affiliate & TikTok Shop: You'll lead outreach to affiliate partners, both through ShopMy platform and TikTok Shop. This requires equal parts organization and salesmanship. You're comfortable nurturing relationships and tracking what's actually driving results.
Performance Reporting: You own your numbers. Every week you'll track and report on content performance, affiliate metrics, and creator results, and you'll use that data to make smarter decisions. If something isn't working, you're the first to flag it and the first to have a point of view on what to try instead.
Website & Asset Management: You'll keep our website content and marketing assets accurate, current, and on-brand. The details matter here. A misplaced asset or outdated copy reflects on the brand, and you take that seriously.
Who We’re Looking For
You have 2-3 years of marketing experience, ideally in lifestyle, CPG, or beauty, and you can point to specific things you built, grew, or improved. You're not just familiar with social media trends, you're genuinely plugged in. You use ShopMy, Canva, and Shopify without needing a tutorial. You're the kind of person who notices when something is off-brand before anyone asks you to. You have a sense of what is trending before it actually tips.
You care about food. Not performatively, actually. Material was built by and for people who take cooking seriously, and that ethos runs through everything we make and every story we tell. If the culinary world is your world, you'll feel right at home here.
You're a self-starter who communicates clearly and doesn't need to be chased down. Remote work suits you because you're disciplined, not because you want to disappear.
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience is absolutely considered.
